Royal Enfield Fuel Fury 650 is a one-off custom scrambler built by Fuel Motorcycles based on the Bear 650. It pays tribute to Eddie Mulder and the 1960 Big Bear Run.

Fuel Motorcycles, the custom garage based in Barcelona, has built a one-of-a-kind scrambler based on the Royal Enfield Bear 650. Called the Fuel Fury 650, this motorcycle was created as a tribute to Eddie Mulder—the man who raced to victory in the 1960 Big Bear Run on a Royal Enfield Fury 500. The name and the design both take inspiration from Royal Enfield’s racing legacy.
The Fuel Fury 650 is not just a visual makeover—it’s a full custom job built to reflect the spirit of 1960s desert racing. Fuel Motorcycles was given one of the first production Bear 650s by Royal Enfield, along with a clear brief: build something that honours Mulder and the iconic Fury 500.

Visually, the Fury 650 grabs attention right away. It wears a red-and-white paint scheme with racing-inspired graphics. The tank proudly features the slogan “In Gut We Trust,” while Mulder’s race number appears on the side panels. The styling is further enhanced by a high-mounted front fender, dual LED headlights, and a slim tail section. The flat seat, made from waterproof Alcantara with red stitching, blends function with style.

The motorcycle isn’t just about looks. It’s built to perform off the road. The 649cc parallel-twin engine from the Bear 650 remains unchanged, producing 46.8 bhp and 56.5 Nm of torque. However, the suspension setup has been overhauled. Up front, there’s a modified enduro fork, and at the rear, fully adjustable gas-charged shocks have been added. It rides on wire-spoke wheels wrapped in Mitas Dakar 6 tyres—21 inches at the front—for added grip on rough terrain.

Adding to its rally character, the Fury 650 features a navigation setup similar to what you’d find in a rally bike. The digital command centre includes a GPS roadbook, odometer, tachometer, and speedometer. A motogadget unit handles data readouts. Other details include a skid plate, rally pegs, knuckle guards, and foam grips, all designed to handle off-road conditions.

This project is strictly a one-off and won’t go on sale. Royal Enfield hasn’t announced any plans to produce a scrambler version of the Bear 650, but builds like this clearly show what’s possible. It’s a great way to honour the brand’s off-road history while also showing off the Bear 650’s potential for customization.
