Tata Extends Lifetime Battery Warranty to Curvv.ev and Nexon.ev 45 kWh Variants

Tata Motors has taken a major step forward in strengthening buyer confidence in electric mobility by expanding its lifetime high-voltage (HV) battery warranty to cover the Curvv.ev and Nexon.ev 45 kWh variants. The warranty applies to both new and existing first-time owners, offering unlimited kilometre coverage for up to 15 years from the vehicle’s registration date.

Originally introduced with the Harrier.ev, this warranty program now extends to more models in Tata’s growing EV portfolio. It directly addresses long-standing concerns around battery longevity and replacement costs, making Tata’s electric offerings even more attractive in the value-conscious Indian market.

Vivek Srivatsa, Chief Commercial Officer at Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., said, “By democratising premium EV technology, we have played a significant role in advancing India’s EV category’s exponential growth. One of the key factors behind this growth is the ability to instil confidence amongst customers for a worry-free ownership experience. Today, we are proud to extend this feeling even further with the introduction of the Lifetime HV Battery Warranty solution for all customers of the Curvv.ev and Nexon.ev 45 kWh. By offering this unprecedented assurance, we are enabling a truly carefree, future-ready ownership journey for every TATA.ev buyer.”

The lifetime battery warranty is applicable only to private individual owners, covering both current and new buyers who are the first registered owners of the vehicle. Tata is also offering a ₹50,000 loyalty bonus to existing TATA.ev customers purchasing either the Curvv.ev or Nexon.ev 45, as a reward for their early adoption of electric mobility.

The Curvv.ev, offered with two battery options — 45 kWh and 55 kWh — is priced between ₹17.49 lakh and ₹21.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The 45 kWh unit is available in Creative, Accomplished, and Accomplished+ S trims, while the 55 kWh version is offered in Accomplished, Accomplished+ S, Empowered+, and Empowered+ A trims. Tata has also introduced a Dark Edition variant of the Curvv.ev, priced at ₹22.24 lakh, available in the top Empowered+ A trim with the 55 kWh battery.

The Nexon.ev 45 kWh is currently available in Creative, Fearless, Empowered, and Empowered+ trims, with prices ranging from ₹13.99 lakh to ₹16.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It offers a real-world range of 350–375 km on a single charge and produces 142 bhp and 215 Nm of peak torque.

Apart from easing long-term maintenance concerns, this lifetime battery warranty could positively impact the resale value of Tata EVs. Tata estimates that buyers may save up to ₹8–9 lakh in running costs over a decade, further boosting the overall ownership value.
