Tata Motors recently launched the all-electric Harrier EV in India with a starting price of ₹21.49 lakh (ex-showroom). With official bookings set to begin on July 2, the new electric SUV will be available in three trims – Adventure, Fearless, and Empowered. While variant-wise prices are yet to be announced, key features of the entry-level Adventure variant have now been detailed.

Design and Exterior Highlights

The base Adventure trim of the Harrier EV features a familiar yet refined exterior design, retaining the robust appeal of its ICE counterpart with subtle EV-specific enhancements. Key design elements include 18-inch alloy wheels with aero inserts, dual-tone exterior paint, LED bi-projector headlamps, LED DRLs, connected LED tail lamps, roof rails, integrated side steps, a rear washer and wiper, puddle lamps, and a shark-fin antenna.

Cabin Features and Technology

Inside, the Adventure variant doesn’t compromise on comfort or technology. It comes equipped with dual 10.25-inch screens – one for the infotainment system and the other for the digital instrument cluster. The infotainment unit supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The system is paired with a 4-speaker and 2-tweeter audio setup.

Additional cabin features include automatic climate control, rear AC vents, a wireless charging pad, and tilt and telescopic steering adjustment. The driver gets an 8-way adjustable seat while the front passenger seat can be adjusted in four ways. The sliding front armrest, manual lumbar support, and split-folding rear seatbacks enhance practicality.

Adding to its premium feel, the Harrier EV features leatherette seat upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo, and a dual-tone interior theme. The base variant even includes features such as a rear parcel tray and bidirectional charging capabilities with Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) support.

Drive Modes and Terrain Settings

Tata is offering multiple drive modes – Eco, City, Sport, and Drift – along with terrain-specific settings such as Normal, Rock Crawl, Mud Ruts, Snow/Grass, Sand, and a Custom mode. Paddle shifters are also available, adding a more dynamic driving experience.

Safety and Convenience Features

On the safety front, the Harrier EV Adventure trim packs six airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, traction control, and hill-start assist. Other highlights include a high-definition reverse camera, tyre pressure monitoring system, AVAS (Acoustic Vehicle Alert System) to alert pedestrians at low speeds, and a rear parking sensor-based assist system.

Convenience features include a keyless entry, auto-dimming inside rearview mirror, follow-me-home headlamps, electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs with auto-fold function, USB Type-C charging ports with 45W output, and OTA (Over-the-Air) software updates. There’s also iRA connected car technology integrated into the system.

Battery, Platform, and Range

The Adventure variant is available exclusively with a 65 kWh battery pack and comes in a rear-wheel-drive (RWD) layout. Tata will also offer a larger 75 kWh battery option in higher variants, claiming a driving range of up to 627 km. The Harrier EV is underpinned by Tata’s Acti.ev+ platform and will be offered in both RWD and AWD versions, delivering up to 504 Nm of torque.
