Toyota has revised the pricing of its popular SUVs—the Fortuner and Legender—with increases of up to Rs 68,000 across select variants. The price hike follows the recent launch of the Fortuner mild-hybrid variant, which is now available from Rs 44.77 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Fortuner 4×2 Petrol Automatic sees the highest jump, with a price hike of Rs 68,000. Meanwhile, the Fortuner 4×2 Diesel Manual and Automatic variants, along with the 4×4 Diesel Manual, have become costlier by Rs 40,000. The price revision also affects the GR-S and Legender 4×4 Diesel MT and AT variants, which now carry an additional Rs 40,000 over their previous tags.

It’s important to note that this price increase doesn’t bring any updates to the equipment list. All features remain unchanged across the affected variants.

The hike comes shortly after Toyota introduced the new 48V mild-hybrid version of the Fortuner, featuring a belt-driven starter generator and a lithium-ion battery pack. This system captures energy during deceleration through regenerative braking and provides electric assist during acceleration. The setup also includes an idle start-stop system to help improve fuel efficiency, particularly in stop-and-go traffic conditions.

Under the hood, the Fortuner continues to offer two engine choices: a 2.7-litre petrol engine paired with a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic, and a 2.8-litre diesel engine available with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic. Both 2WD and 4WD configurations are offered depending on the variant. The Legender uses the same 2.8-litre diesel engine but is positioned as a more premium alternative, with added styling and features.
