Updated Bajaj Dominar 400 Teased Ahead of Launch

Bajaj Auto has teased the arrival of an updated Dominar 400, hinting at a launch in the coming weeks. The teaser image, shared on the brand’s social media platforms, shows the familiar silhouette of the Dominar, suggesting that the overall design remains unchanged. However, subtle upgrades are expected — most notably in terms of tech and instrumentation.

Earlier this year, a Dominar 400 was spotted at a dealership sporting the same LCD dot-matrix instrument cluster as seen on the new Pulsar NS400Z. This modern console brings several features to the table, including Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, SMS and call alerts, as well as selectable ride modes, ABS modes, and switchable traction control. If the Dominar 400 indeed adopts this unit, it would mark a significant leap in its feature set.

With the new console expected to replace the quirky tank-mounted digital display currently used for tell-tale indicators and gear position, the update aims to bring better functionality and cleaner design. It’s also expected that the secondary fuel-tank display will be phased out altogether.

Mechanically, the Dominar 400 hasn’t seen major changes since it received the USD fork in 2019. The 373cc liquid-cooled engine has consistently produced 40hp and 35Nm of torque. However, with Bajaj also working on an updated Pulsar NS400Z — reportedly with better brakes, tyres, more features, and potentially a revised powertrain — there’s speculation that the Dominar 400 might also inherit this more powerful version of the motor.

In addition to the tech upgrades, Bajaj might introduce new colour options for the Dominar 400, adding freshness without altering the overall styling. The current model is available in red, green, and black, and is priced at ₹2.39 lakh (ex-showroom). Whether the Dominar 250 will also receive similar updates remains unclear, though many believe it is due for one.

As of now, there is no official launch date, but with the teaser now live, the updated Dominar 400 could be launched anytime soon. Expect a slight price hike in exchange for the added features.
