Honor Magic V3: Thinner Than Galaxy S25 Edge, Bigger Battery Inside

Honor Magic V3 comes with just 4.35mm thickness and packs a 5,050mAh battery. It aims to beat the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, which is currently Samsung’s slimmest phone with a 5.8mm profile.

Honor is gearing up to make waves in the smartphone market once again. The brand has teased its upcoming Magic V3, and what’s turning heads is its incredibly slim profile. According to the teaser, the Magic V3 will be even thinner than Samsung’s already slim Galaxy S25 Edge, setting a new benchmark for sleek smartphone design.

While the Galaxy S25 Edge made headlines with its 5.8mm thickness, Honor plans to go a step further. The Magic V3 measures just 4.35mm when unfolded—making it significantly slimmer than Samsung’s latest.

But Honor isn’t just talking numbers. The company has taken a direct jab at Samsung, raising a bold question: “Why thin if you’re making compromises to get there?” Alongside this, the slogan “THIN without the catch” suggests that Honor is promising a slim profile without sacrificing key features.

Backing this claim is the Magic V3’s 5050mAh battery—a clear upgrade over the 3900mAh unit found in the Galaxy S25 Edge. This points to a major difference in approach: Samsung’s ultra-slim design required trimming down on battery size, while Honor appears to have avoided that trade-off.

It’s worth noting, though, that the comparison may not be completely fair. The Magic V3 is a foldable, and its teased thickness refers to the unfolded state, while the Galaxy S25 Edge is a traditional, non-folding smartphone. Still, the bold comparison suggests Honor is confident in its engineering.

To recap, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge features a 6.7-inch Quad HD+ LTPO AMOLED display, is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, and offers up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage. It supports 25W fast charging, Qi wireless charging, and Wireless PowerShare, all inside a body with IP68 water and dust resistance.

Whether Honor’s Magic V3 can truly outshine the Galaxy S25 Edge will become clearer once the full specs and real-world performance are revealed. But for now, the battle of slim flagships is heating up—with Honor clearly ready to challenge the status quo.
