HONOR Magic V5 debuts as the world’s thinnest foldable phone with Snapdragon 8 Elite, triple cameras, IP59 rating, and up to 1TB storage.
HONOR has launched the Magic V5 in China, its latest flagship foldable phone and successor to the Magic V3. With a refined design, improved durability, and cutting-edge specs, the Magic V5 is now positioned as the world’s thinnest foldable. Sales in China begin from July 4, 2025, and global availability is expected later this year.
The device features a sleek eight-curve frame with a 3D diamond-cut finish, available in Ivory White, Black, Dawn Gold, and Reddish Brown. The Ivory White variant is the slimmest, measuring 8.8mm folded and 4.1mm unfolded, while other colors are slightly bulkier.

The Magic V5 comes with a 7.95-inch foldable OLED inner display and a 6.43-inch outer OLED panel, both offering 120Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision, HDR Vivid, and 1.07 billion colors. The peak brightness reaches 5000 nits, and the device includes LTPO eye protection and 4320Hz PWM dimming for visual comfort.
Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, the phone is available with up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage. It runs on MagicOS 9.0.1 based on Android 15 and includes the YOYO AI assistant with smart productivity features like screen recognition, cross-platform sharing, and split-screen multitasking.
The camera setup includes a 50MP main, 50MP ultra-wide, and 64MP periscope telephoto sensor with OIS and 100x digital zoom. Both inner and outer displays feature 20MP front cameras. The phone also supports stereo speakers with noise reduction.
Battery options include a 6100mAh unit for the 1TB model and 5820mAh for the others. Charging is supported via 66W wired, 50W wireless, and wireless reverse charging. Durability is enhanced with IP58/IP59 ratings, carbon fiber layers, and Giant Rhino Glass for better drop and scratch resistance.
Pricing and Availability
The HONOR Magic V5 is now available for pre-order in China. The base model (12GB + 256GB) is priced at Yuan 8,999 (~Rs. 1,07,470), the 16GB + 512GB variant at Yuan 9,999 (~Rs. 1,19,420), and the top-end 16GB + 1TB version at Yuan 10,999 (~Rs. 1,31,370).
Sales begin from July 4 via Honor Mall, experience stores, and authorised retailers. While global launch dates haven’t been confirmed, an international release is expected later this year.
