Apple is reportedly set to revolutionize smartphone design with the upcoming iPhone 17 Air, aiming to deliver an ultra-thin profile without compromising performance.

Design and Build

The iPhone 17 Air is expected to be Apple’s thinnest device, with thickness estimates ranging from 5.5mm to 6.25mm. To achieve this sleek form, Apple is rumored to utilize a titanium-aluminum frame, balancing durability with lightweight design.

Display

Anticipated to feature a 6.6-inch OLED display, the iPhone 17 Air is expected to include ProMotion technology, offering a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth visuals. The display may also incorporate an anti-reflective coating to enhance visibility and durability.

Performance

Under the hood, the iPhone 17 Air is likely to be powered by Apple’s next-generation A19 chipset, built on a 3nm process, coupled with 8GB of RAM. This combination aims to deliver efficient performance and support AI-driven features.

Camera

In line with its minimalist design, the iPhone 17 Air is expected to feature a single 48MP rear camera and a 24MP front-facing camera, both housed within a distinctive horizontal camera bar.

Pricing and Availability

Pricing is speculated to start at around $899 in the U.S., positioning it between the standard iPhone 17 and the Pro models. Based on recent reports, the iPhone 17 Air is anticipated to launch in India with a starting price of approximately ₹89,900 for the base 128GB model. The iPhone 17 Air is expected to debut in September 2025.

In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), leaker Majin Bu shared images of the upcoming iPhone 17 Air. The images reveal a device with a sleek design, featuring a single rear camera housed in a horizontal camera bar, reminiscent of Google’s Pixel series. According to the leaked images, the device is expected to be just 5.5mm thick, making it potentially Apple’s thinnest iPhone to date.

The leaked images also showcases a matte finish on the back, with volume rockers and an Action Button on the left side, and a Camera Control button on the right. These features are consistent with earlier reports about the iPhone 17 Air’s design.
