As the anticipation builds for the launch of Apple’s iPhone 17 series later this year, new leaks have shed light on what could be a notable design change—particularly involving the Apple logo’s placement—and a potential record-breaking battery upgrade in the iPhone 17 Pro Max.

A Shift in Design: Apple Logo Placement May Change

Fresh renders shared by tipster Majin Bu on X have hinted at a surprising tweak in the upcoming iPhone 17 Pro’s rear design. The leaked images show the Apple logo positioned slightly lower than on current models, sitting awkwardly below the center of the MagSafe ring on transparent-style cases. This change, if accurate, could affect how the logo aligns with accessories such as clear MagSafe cases.

While the change may look odd in some cases, especially with transparent accessories, it’s not unprecedented. Apple had previously moved the logo to the center of the device back with the iPhone 11 series—so a repositioning once again wouldn’t be entirely out of character, especially if it complements a larger redesign.

iPhone 17 Pro Max to Feature Biggest iPhone Battery Yet?

Perhaps the more practical update comes in the form of battery life. According to recent leaks, the iPhone 17 Pro Max is expected to house a massive 5,000mAh battery—making it the largest battery ever used in an iPhone. This upgrade would not only surpass the iPhone 16 Pro Max but may also deliver up to 35 hours of usage on a single charge, thanks in part to Apple’s upcoming A19 Pro chip, which is said to improve power efficiency significantly.

The iPhone 17 Pro Max will reportedly measure 8.725mm in thickness, slightly thicker than its predecessor (8.25mm), possibly to accommodate the larger battery pack.

What Else to Expect: Design, Camera, and Lineup Details

The iPhone 17 series is expected to include four models: iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Among them, the iPhone 17 Air is rumored to be the slimmest iPhone ever, featuring a single rear camera and a minimalistic design. Meanwhile, the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are said to retain the triple-camera setup but adopt a new rectangular camera housing. Notably, the LiDAR scanner and flash may shift toward the right edge of the module, further distinguishing the design.

A major upgrade is also expected on the selfie camera front. All iPhone 17 models are rumored to come equipped with a 24MP front camera, doubling the resolution from the iPhone 16 lineup. On the rear, the standard iPhone 17 may feature a dual-camera setup, while the iPhone 17 Air could offer a single 48MP sensor. As for the Pro models, they may boast three 48MP sensors covering wide, ultra-wide, and telephoto lenses.

Launch Timeline

Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 17 lineup around September 2025, continuing its tradition of fall announcements. While none of the above has been officially confirmed, these early leaks suggest Apple is preparing a significant refresh for the iPhone 17 Pro Max—not just in design, but also in performance and practicality.
