Nothing has officially introduced the Phone (3), marking its entry into the true flagship category. Unveiled at a global event in the UK, the Phone (3) brings substantial upgrades across design, performance, and software, and is set to go on sale in India from July 15. This is Nothing’s most powerful smartphone yet and takes aim at the premium Android space with a fresh mix of aesthetics and functionality.

One of the standout changes in the Phone (3) is the all-new Glyph Matrix, a redesigned micro-LED interface on the back that offers advanced customisation, real-time alerts, app-based lighting cues, and features like “Flip to Record”, which starts transcribing conversations when the phone is placed face down. The phone’s modular design includes a tri-column layout and uniform bezels, along with an upgraded R-angle shape and architectural inspirations that make it feel distinctly premium.

The performance side sees a major leap with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor based on the 4nm process, offering notable gains over the Phone (2) — a 36% improvement in CPU performance, 88% boost in GPU, and up to 125% faster image recognition. Backing it is a 5500mAh silicon-carbon battery, which supports 65W wired charging (full charge in 54 minutes) and 15W wireless charging.

The front of the device features a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution, 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 2160Hz PWM dimming, and up to 4500 nits peak brightness in HDR, giving it a 92.89% screen-to-body ratio. The viewing experience is further enhanced by a 1000Hz touch sampling rate for ultra-smooth responsiveness.

On the photography front, the Phone (3) comes with a 1/1.3-inch main sensor capable of lossless optical zoom and 4K 60fps video recording across all lenses with optical image stabilisation. It also includes AI-backed features like cinematic effects, sharp low-light photography, and professional-grade presets, reflecting Nothing’s renewed focus on camera quality.

In terms of durability, the Phone (3) comes with an IP68 rating, making it resistant to water and dust. It also offers a public SDK for Glyph Matrix, allowing developers to create custom lighting effects, app-specific interactions, and contact-based ID animations.

The software experience is driven by Nothing OS 3.5, based on Android 15, and the company has committed to 5 years of major Android updates and 7 years of security patches. The OS includes features like Essential Search for universal smart search, Essential Space for AI-assisted content organisation, and the much-highlighted Flip to Record.
