nubia Z70S Ultra launches globally with Snapdragon 8 Elite, 64MP telephoto camera, 6,600mAh battery, and Android 15. Available in multiple configurations with pro photography features.

nubia has rolled out the Z70S Ultra in global markets after its earlier debut in China. The flagship smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, features a 6,600mAh battery with support for 80W fast charging, and offers up to 16GB of RAM. Positioned as a photography-focused device, the Z70S Ultra brings high-end camera hardware, including a 64-megapixel periscope telephoto lens.

nubia Z70S Ultra: Global Launch and Pricing

The nubia Z70S Ultra is now available for pre-order in various regions via the official website until May 28, 2025. In the US, pricing starts at $779 (approximately Rs. 66,500) for the 12GB + 256GB model, while the 16GB + 512GB variant is listed at $869 (around Rs. 74,000).

In the UK, the phone is priced at £659 (approximately Rs. 75,000) and £769 (approximately Rs. 87,500) respectively. For EU customers, prices are set at €769 (approximately Rs. 73,700) and €869 (approximately Rs. 83,300) for the same configurations. The device is offered in Antique Brown and Classic Black. Nubia also plans to release a Retro Kit accessory package for the phone soon.

Alongside the smartphone, Nubia introduced the Nubia Pad Pro for global markets. The tablet is scheduled to launch on June 12, though pricing details haven’t been disclosed yet.

Display and Performance

The Z70S Ultra features a 6.85-inch BOE Q9+ OLED display with 1.5K resolution (1216×2688 pixels). It supports a 144Hz refresh rate, 960Hz touch sampling rate, 2,000 nits peak brightness, and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut. The screen also includes 2,592Hz PWM dimming for eye comfort.

Under the hood, it runs on the 3nm Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, paired with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 internal storage. The phone ships with Android 15-based Nebula AIOS 1.5.

Camera Hardware

The main highlight of the device is its camera setup. It includes a custom 50MP 1/1.3-inch OmniVision OV50H sensor with a native 35mm focal length, supported by OIS. This sensor, branded as the Light and Shadow Master 990, integrates features like H/V QPD autofocus and dual conversion gain HDR for enhanced imaging.

Alongside the main camera is a 50MP ultra-wide OmniVision OV50D sensor with a 120-degree field of view and macro support. There’s also a 64MP periscope telephoto lens (1/2-inch OmniVision OV64B) with OIS, flicker detection, and a laser sensor. For selfies, the phone features a 16MP OmniVision OV16A1Q sensor housed under the display.

The Z70S Ultra also includes a physical two-stage mechanical shutter button that allows half-press to focus and full-press to capture.

Photographer Edition and Accessories

A special Photographer Edition is available with additional tools for enthusiasts. Nubia offers a Retro Kit that includes a classic camera-style case, Neo Bar camera control bar, filter adapter rings, and other accessories to enhance professional photography.

Battery and Connectivity

The phone is backed by a 6,600mAh battery with support for 80W fast charging. Connectivity options include 5G (NSA/SA), dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS (L1/L5), GLONASS, NFC, and USB Type-C. It also comes with dual speakers enhanced by DTS:X Ultra, triple microphones, dual X-axis linear motors, and an in-display fingerprint sensor. The device is IP68 and IP69 certified for dust and water resistance.
