Oakley Meta HSTN smart glasses combine sporty design with Meta AI features like voice control, hands-free camera, and open-ear speakers. Launching soon with limited and standard models.

Meta has unveiled a new addition to its wearable technology lineup — the Oakley Meta smart glasses, developed in partnership with Oakley, the sport and lifestyle brand under EssilorLuxottica. This launch introduces a fresh category called “Performance AI glasses,” blending Oakley’s bold design and sports heritage with Meta’s AI capabilities.
This isn’t Meta’s first foray into smart eyewear. The Oakley Meta follows the brand’s earlier success with the Ray-Ban Meta series, but it takes a more performance-driven approach. With a clear focus on athletes and active users, these glasses aim to offer both style and hands-free functionality for users on the go.
Oakley Meta HSTN: Sporty Design Meets Smart Features
The first model in the new lineup is the Oakley Meta HSTN (pronounced HOW-stuhn), inspired by Oakley’s existing HSTN frame. All variants of the glasses — including a Limited Edition — offer the same feature-rich setup.
Key features include a 3K ultra-wide 12 MP camera for hands-free photos and video, an LED indicator to signal when recording is active, and open-ear Bluetooth speakers for listening to music or taking calls without blocking ambient sound. The glasses also include Meta AI integration, allowing users to perform tasks by simply saying “Hey Meta” — whether it’s taking a picture, sending a message, or getting real-time updates.

Touch and voice controls are built in, while the glasses are rated IPX4 water-resistant, making them suitable for use in the rain or during sweaty workouts. Battery life supports up to 8 hours of standard use, with 5 hours of continuous audio playback and a standby time of up to 19 hours. Fast charging provides 50% charge in 22 minutes and 80% in 45 minutes. With the case, usage can extend up to 48 hours.
Accessibility has also been considered, with features to assist users with limited vision, hearing, or mobility. The glasses support voice control and integrate with the Be My Eyes network.
They’re compatible with both Android (version 10 and above) and iPhones (iOS 15.2 or later), using the Meta View app for setup and controls.
