Xiaomi has officially introduced its new AI-powered smart glasses in China, expanding its wearable tech portfolio with a product that blends everyday functionality with intelligent features. Called simply the Xiaomi AI Glasses, the device is lightweight, packed with advanced hardware, and integrated with Xiaomi’s AI capabilities to deliver a hands-free, connected experience.

Weighing just 40 grams, the AI Glasses feature a classic D-shaped frame made from TR90 nylon, paired with aerospace-grade titanium alloy hinges built to endure over 18,000 open-close cycles. The design is tailored for Asian facial structures with a 12° outward rotation and 5° forward tilt at the temples, ensuring a secure and comfortable fit even during extended wear. Xiaomi is offering the glasses in three colour options: Black, Brown, and Green.

One of the standout features of the Xiaomi AI Glasses is its electrochromic lenses. With a double tap on the temple, the lenses can change their tint in just 0.2 seconds, automatically adjusting to ambient lighting. The lenses offer four levels of light transmittance ranging from 10% to 48%, making them practical for various environments.

At the core of the glasses is a dual-chip setup, led by the Snapdragon AR1 processor and a secondary low-power chip. This architecture handles demanding AI functions like live translation and object recognition while optimizing power consumption for everyday tasks like voice control and music playback. The glasses are powered by a 263mAh silicon-carbon battery that promises up to 8.6 hours of typical use, 21 hours on standby, 7 hours of music playback, and up to 45 minutes of continuous video recording. Charging is done via USB Type-C, and users can even plug in and use the device simultaneously.

The Xiaomi AI Glasses also feature a 12MP ultra-wide Sony IMX681 camera, capable of shooting high-resolution photos and 2K video from a first-person perspective. Audio is handled through dual symmetrical open speakers designed with a reverse sound field to minimize audio leakage. A five-microphone array—including a bone-conduction microphone near the nose pad—ensures clear voice capture even in noisy outdoor conditions like cycling.

In terms of smart features, Xiaomi’s built-in AI supports real-time object recognition, live translation in over 10 languages, and even calorie detection. A dedicated Meeting Assistant offers transcription, summaries, and translation, while the Xiao Ai voice assistant allows users to control smart home devices or initiate voice-based Alipay payments. The glasses also integrate seamlessly with the Xiaomi HyperOS ecosystem, enabling camera switching, livestreaming, and voice calls from a paired smartphone. Users can manage settings and media through the Xiaomi Glasses app.
